Welcome to the California Hospital Financial Performance Dashboard: An Interactive Tool
As part of its efforts to provide Californians with valuable, accessible, and usable information on a wide range of health care issues, the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) has developed a first-of-its-kind “dashboard” to gauge the financial performance of California hospitals.
This free, interactive tool uses audited annual data from the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). The data include hospital operating and financial indicators from 2001 through 2005 for 372 hospitals across California.
Users can review individual hospital financial performance as well as aggregate performance in multiple categories, including by hospital systems, geographic regions, counties, and legislative districts. The tool allows users to create custom reports or search data by categories including patient volume, payer mix, profitability, and capital strength.
The dashboard includes 53 canned reports based on 250 underlying data sets. Users may select among the prepared reports and also export the raw data sets for independent manipulation and analysis.
The dashboard was developed in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and a broad-based group of stakeholders.
Before using the dashboard, Adobe Flash Player must be installed. To install, click the following link, uncheck the Yahoo Tool Bar option, and then click the Install Now button.
